Research & clinical interests

Dr. Tara Peris is an Associate Professor at the UCLA Semel Institute. She is the Program Director for the ABC Children’s Partial Hospitalization Program, which is a core rotation for fellows. She is also the Co-Director of the UCLA Child OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Program.Dr. Peris’ clinical specialty is in evidence-based treatments for child and adolescent anxiety and related disorders. Her research interests center on family factors that influence how youth fare in treatment for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, and related disorders. She is also interested in the use of translational research methods to examine mechanisms of action in evidence-based treatment for anxiety and related disorders. Dr. Peris is the recipient of a career development award from NIMH, a Brain and Behavior Foundation Young Investigator Award, and awards from the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation (OCF), the Trichotillomania Learning Center, and the Friends of the Semel Institute. She is the 2016 APA Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology Early Career Award Winner.
